Antibiotic Resistance Articles DUE TUESDAY

Read the following articles

Antibiotic Fact Sheet
Antibiotic resistance organic food
Meat industry Defends Antibiotics Use
A growing problem
Antibiotic use

1. Write a summary paragraph  for each article.
2. Write a paragraph to explain what antibiotic resistance is.
3. Write a paragraph and draw a picture to explain how antibiotic resistance happens.
4. Write a paragraph explaining why antibiotic resistance is a concern.  Include a brief history of antibiotics, life before antibiotics, and life after antibiotics.
5. Write a paragraph summarizing where you fall on the use of antibiotic use in farm animals.  Be sure to provide reasons and evidence supporting your stance.
6.  You are the head of the FDA and in charge of policy regarding antibiotic use.  Write a policy that takes into account public health as you understand it and the concerns of business and why you wrote it the way you did (ie justify your position).  Remember though that the FDA's primary charge is the protection of human health.

Work (joules) = mass (kg) * gravity (9.81 m/s2) * 4.3 m
